Provide reliable live video and audio data over unsecured networks with RIST

The Cobalt® SafeLink protects live video and audio data over unsecured networks, thereby eliminating video hits or glitches. By using a low latency protocol, Reliable Internet Stream Transport (RIST), SafeLink provides reliable video transport even in live production environments that may experience network delay.

The software is lightweight and can live on most computers or on Cobalt’s openGear OG-PC-x86 platform. Control is handled with DashBoard, a free application that handles control and monitoring for all openGear broadcast products. Extensive link quality statistics are provided for fine-tuning.

SafeLink is compression-agnostic and can protect any type of transport stream. With up to 8 discrete transmit and receive paths available, SafeLink is ideal for providing link protection to existing encoding/decoding infrastructure.

SafeLink is available in the following configurations:

  • SafeLink-8TS
SafeLink product – Supports 8 transport streams for receive and transmit
  • SafeLink 8TS-SW (Software Only)
Software package is available to run on off-the-shelf x86 64-bit PCs and VM images are available to run in the cloud.
  • SafeLink-8TS-VM (Software Only)
VM images are available to run in the cloud.
