Cobalt's New Virtual Panel Expands Remote Control Options
Cobalt Digital has expanded remote control choices with the launch of its WinOGCP panel for desktop virtual control of all the Company’s Fusion3G® 9900 and COMPASS® 9000 series signal processing cards.
Available as a convenient PC application, WinOGCP provides the same simplified and instantly available remote control offered by Cobalt’s award-winning OGCP-9000 remote control panel, using the same intuitive control layout. The WinOGCP gives users an advanced level of flexibility by utilizing Cobalt’s optional Loudness Metering software to monitor and control loudness levels and dialnorm from anywhere via a LAN/WAN connection.
Cobalt’s loudness meter software, fully compliant with ITU BS.1770, ATSC A/85, and EBU R128 standards, operates directly with the Company’s Fusion3G® and most 9000 series COMPASS® cards to provide a comprehensive solution for ingest or on-air loudness metering and assessment. WinOGCP communicates with and controls cards in an openGear® frame over an optimized high-speed openGear® control protocol using your PC’s standard Ethernet connection - no additional hardware is required.
An easy to use keypad provides intuitive access with minimal submenus. For any card, only one level of submenus is needed to access all of its functions. Station engineers can configure the panel to restrict availability of specific cards and parameters for operation. WinOGCP works seamlessly with openGear’s DashBoard™ and Cobalt’s OGCP-9000 control panels – any changes made with either system are instantly reflected on the other.
WinOGCP has background settings that are optimized for bright and low light environments. The large size high-resolution graphics utilize the full width of the desktop, offering clear graphics and easy to read text.
“We designed this system in response to customer requests for flexible control choices,” said Chris Shaw, senior VP of sales and marketing. “Sophisticated remote monitoring and control capabilities make space so much more adaptable, and it’s easy on budgets and staffing requirements."
