NEP Features Cobalt 9000 Series in WWE HD Mobile Production Truck
Cobalt Digital, a leading designer and manufacturer of analog-to-digital converters, is pleased to announce that NEP has selected Cobalt Digital equipment for the new WWE mobile production vehicle for conversion and distribution of signals.
The equipment selected includes the 9062 Up/Down/Cross Converter, the award-winning 9035 Analog to Digital Audio Embedder with Frame Sync and A/V processing controls, and the award-winning 8090 HD/SD 12-bit Stand Alone Analog to Digital Converter.
“We have found Cobalt Digital to be extremely responsive to meeting our needs for innovative products. The Down Converting DAs, Embedders and De-Embedders have been designed to meet our requirements for format agnostic equipment with a web enable user interface. The Down Converting DAs offer broadcast quality outputs with field lock when converting progressive frames to interlaced,” said George Hoover, NEP Senior VP of Engineering.
Cobalt has a long-standing history of designing rugged, multifunctional product for the critical mobile truck environment. Remarking on the successful relationship between the two companies, Hoover commented that “NEP has a long relationship with Cobalt Digital, leading back to when Cobalt was founded.” In 1997, Cobalt started out by building digital to analog converters for the sports remote trucks of NEP, one of the nation's leading providers of remote television broadcast facilities for sports and entertainment. The products were so popular that the start-up rapidly evolved into orders for multiple converters from NEP, Cross-Creek, Game-Creek, Broadcast Sports Technology, Sure Shot Transmissions, NCP and other sports production companies.
Chris Shaw, Director of Sales for Cobalt stated, “We are pleased to add the WWE vehicle to the growing number of mobile production trucks who are now using the 9000 COMPASS™ series products. The use of these products displays the confidence that end-users have in the quality and reliability of the 9000 series cards under varied testing circumstances. Cobalt engineering has proven more than capable in responding in a timely manner to provide specific solutions to customers’ challenges—a vital asset in today’s TV broadcast industry.”
