Cobalt and Linear Acoustic Team Up for Loudness Processing
The OPT-SW-LP option from Cobalt provides convenient, high-quality ‘loudness processing’ for a range of 9000 series COMPASS™ cards.
Today’s broadcasters work with content from a wide variation of sources and other stations, requiring the ability to manage differences in loudness from program to program. Cobalt Digital and Linear Acoustic® have teamed up to provide a solution to be made available within a number of Cobalt’s 9000 series COMPASS™ cards for the openGear™ format.
Together, these technologies allow broadcasters to manage loudness, providing their viewers with the highest level of audio quality, and avoiding the annoying extremes of loudness currently experienced. The combination of Cobalt’s 9000 series cards for openGear™ and the Linear Acoustic AeroMAX™ technology provides a high quality, price competitive solution in rack frame format.
Options available are processing on six to eight channels comprising 5.1, two channels comprising a stereo sound field, and a ‘Special’ quad 2.0 version providing four stereo or mono programs.
“Linear Acoustic is proud to be working with Cobalt Digital on another product to help broadcasters get audio under control,” said Christina Carroll, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Linear Acoustic.
“With the AeroMAX™-enabled OPT-SW-LP, we can offer our openGear™ customers cutting-edge loudness processing capabilities, saving both rack space and money,” said Chris Shaw, Vice President of Sales for Cobalt. “Linear Acoustic was our partner of choice in developing the OPT-SW-LP option, because the company is a respected leader in audio processing with a reputation for high-quality, innovative solutions.”
