Cobalt to Display Remote Control Panels at IBC 2008 (Stand 10.A24)
Cobalt Digital announced today the release of the new OGCP-9000 Remote Control Panel. Designed to control and configure Cobalt's 9000 series of cards for the openGear frame, the OGCP-9000 and the OGCP-9000/CC install in standard equipment racks and are 2 RU high. The control panels will be available for demonstration during the IBC 2008 show in Amsterdam (Stand 10.A24).
Although both panels are designed for use with Cobalt's extensive 9000 series for openGear, the OGCP-9000/CC provides special emphasis and features for the new 9084 Color Corrector card. The 9084 is an HD/SD-SDI RGB Corrector with YCbCr video proc and frame synchronization.
"Although the COMPASS 9000 series can be controlled and monitored via DashBoard software from a PC, in many facilities, it is vital to offer quick, intuitive operational access via an in-rack remote control panel," explained Chris Shaw, Cobalt's VP of Sales. "This made the introduction of the two new control panels essential for the growth of the 9000 series. Already, major facilities and truck companies have taken advantage of these control panels for use with openGear frames."
The control panels allow quick access to hundreds of cards in a facility, and can monitor and adjust 8 parameters at one time. There are two large format, super-bright LCDs that show sharp and clear text for the currently visible parameters. Twelve general purpose input signals allow outside devices to control the currently displayed processing card, which enables automatic router following on QC stations, or interfacing with simple button boxes for special applications. The panel can also indicate the currently selected card on 16 general-purpose output signals.
"Cobalt is adding new 9000 series cards on a monthly basis. The growth of this range and the interest from end-users and system integrators makes for an exciting time in the company," Shaw added.
